Nereo Rocco is once again on the bench as coach and the team are reinforced with the arrival of experienced performers in Malatrasi, Hamrin and Cudicini. The championship is already under way when Pierino Prati arrives but the forward's goals help the side to a positive first half of the season where they lose just once. The second half of the season sees Milan run away with the title as they finish nine points ahead of their nearest rivals.
